JUDr. Vlasta Formánková



Term of office from 8th August, 2005

Born in Klatovy, 26th July 1953

JUDr. Vlasta Formánková graduated at the Faculty of Law at Charles University in 1977.
In the same year she commenced her practice as a lawyer in Zapadoceske mlekarny n.p.
at Klatovy. In 1978 she was awarded her Doctorate in Law. She began to practice
as a judicial trainee at the Regional Court at Plzen on 1st September, 1978. After passing
judicial examinations, on 15th June 1979, she was elected as a judge of the District Court
Plzen - mesto. At first, she worked in the Civil Law and later in Criminal Law Division;
subsequently she again returned to the Civil Law Division. In January 1990, she was
appointed as Chairwoman of the District Court at Plzeň. Concurrently, she was Chairwoman
of the Civil Law Senate. After completing her term of office, she continued as a judge
in the Civil Law Division. During 2000, she transferred to the Regional Court in Plzeň where
both First Instance and Appeal Agendas of the Civil Law Division were assigned to her.

On 5th August 2005, JUDr. Formánková as appointed a Justice of the Constitutional Court
of the Czech Republic by President Václav Klaus.

JUDr. Vlasta Formánková is married with two children.
